Challenges

“Accept the challenges so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory.”  –General George S. Patton

What great words from General Patton?! Challenges are what help us grow and strengthen ourselves. What would life be like if we never confronted or overcame a challenge? Think of all the challenges that we face in our lives, both little and small:

  • Learning to walk
  • Passing your driver’s license exam
  • Graduation
  • Proposing to the love of your life
  • Interviewing for that perfect job
  • Running a marathon
  • Having a child
  • ADOPTION

All of these are great challenges that we will face in our lives, but they have great rewards as well! The road is difficult and often emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually draining. But at the end of the road there is victory and accomplishment!

Illini Christian Ministries is now approaching such a challenge. We are beginning the process of becoming Hague Accredited! This is an exciting time for our agency as we work towards this amazing accomplishment! However there will be a great deal of work that comes before the victory. One person explained it as “eating an elephant one bite at a time.” I couldn’t describe it better myself! The entire process will take 12-18 months, and entail a great deal of time and commitment.

Please keep ICM in your prayers as we move forward to the challenges that God has for us! We know that this is what He is calling us to, and we know we have His help in conquering those challenges! God bless!
