2012 Annual Report on Intercountry Adoption

The Department of State has released their annual statistical report for 2012 in regards to international adoption. It is always interesting to see the numbers in regards to intercountry adoption and the current trends.

The countries of origin with the most incoming adoptions to the United States included China, Ethiopia, Korea, Russia, the Ukraine, Uganda, and the DRC.

The state of Illinois ranked fifth in the United States in regards to the number of adoptions completed in each state. The only states that adopted more children internationally were California, Florida, New York, and Texas. Illinois had a total of 390 intercountry adoptions.

If you would like to view the entire report (and I would encourage you to do so), you can view it at the following website:

  1. How many of those 390 intercountry adoptions in Illinois did ICM have a part in?

    • ICM had the privilege of doing 16 one month post adoption reports last year for international adoptions! We also did 13 one month post adoption reports last year for domestic adoptions! We are so grateful for all of our wonderful families and the children God has blessed them with!
