Music For The Soul

Many of our adoptive families have shared with me songs that have touched their hearts during their adoption process. Sometimes the adoption process can be difficult, and songs can be an instrument to minister to us during those difficult times. For those of you in the post adoption phase, in the waiting process, or just starting your adoption, here is a list of some great songs. Some are about adoption, others are not specifically about adoption, but can definitely speak to an adoptive parent’s heart during this time.

Right Here Waiting For You by Richard Marx

Somewhere Out There by Linda Ronstadt

From God’s Arms to My Arms to Yours by Michael McClean

The Promise by Tracy Chapman

Love Is On The Way by Celine Dion

His Eye Is On The Sparrow (I like the Lauryn Hill version a lot)

You’ll Be In My Heart by Phil Collins

When Love Takes You In by Steven Curtis Chapman

Peace and Love by Blessed Union of Souls

While I’m Waiting by John Waller

I Give You To His Heart by Alison Krause

I am sure that there are many more, and please feel free to share any more song ideas in the comment section. I would encourage all of you to make a compilation CD or playlist of songs for you, and also of songs for your child.
