Keeping Your Child’s Attention

I found a useful resource recently. It is the Child Development Institute’s website: http://childdevelopmentinfo.com/

It is full of great information for parents and children, as well as additional resources. I would encourage all of you to check out the website.

One of the articles I found interesting on there was titled “10 Toys Great For Keeping Your Child’s Attention.” We’ve all had those moments in church, at the grocery store, or just at home where our children need something to keep them occupied for a bit. This article gave, as the title states, ten great toys for keeping your child’s attention.

Some of these toys are typical toys that you would expect to find on this list, such as blocks, dolls, balls, and Play-Doh. The list also includes housekeeping and gardening tools, sandboxes, art supplies, wagons, musical instruments, and dress up clothes.

Often times the best toys that catch a child’s attention for long periods of time are the ones that go hand-in-hand with the child’s imagination. This requires the child to focus and really become intent on the play at hand.
